Location, Location, Location - Places to get married in Nashville!

Eventually Relish would like to travel a little more of the country but for now, the one place we know is our home court - Nashville, Tennessee. It is a beautiful city rich with history and culture and a wonderful setting for a wedding!

The question is what kind of wedding do you want? We go back again to your personal style and personality. As we mentioned last week, a lot of your other wedding decisions (like color) could be best decided once you have first nailed down your location. Here are some options for you and your style in Nashville. We can not list all the places (there are many) but we will do our best to list those we know are great!

If you have dreamed of a garden wedding...

1) Cheekwood Botancial Gardens
When I got married, this was the place with the garden I wanted to get married in. It is not only beautiful in one area, but all the areas. All the photography that comes from weddings at Cheekwood are simply breathtaking. For me, it ended up being a little out of my price range, but the staff was great and again... BEAUTIFUL!

2) Riverwood Mansion
We know some of the ladies that work here and they are seriously top-knotch in customer service and in helping you plan out all the details. The cool thing here is you can opt to get married in their lovely outdoor gardens or in the mansion itself!

3) Traveller's Rest Plantation
A personal favorite because... I got married there. :) It's sort of a secret in Nashville. It is a historical plantation and they don't do a lot of advertising to get weddings in there. However, it was perfect for our day! We got married in the garden area and then moved everyone in their cool, trendy barn to have the reception. Since it was in deed a barn, we had a picnic / BBQ themed reception. Also, the price for the whole day is awesome in comparison to many venues.

You want to get married in a beautiful church...

1) Scarritt-Bennett Center
I just went to a wedding there for the first time this past weekend. It is even more beautiful than the photos. There are different areas to get married on this beautiful, historic property. Wightman Chapel was where my friends were married and it is an absolutely breathtaking facility. As the bride walked down the aisle, she was backlit by beautiful sunshine pouring in the large window towards the ceiling at the back of the chapel. Just beautiful! Plus, it is in the heart of downtown Nashville, which your out-of-town guests might really enjoy!

2) Belmont MansionThis mansion is elegant in its Victorian style. The Grand Salon is extremely beautiful and is a perfect place for you to take your vows. The atmosphere simply says romance! (It's also very affordable in comparison to some other similar locations)

3) The Hermitage
If you love history, you will especially love this home of President Andrew Jackson. With over 1100 acres, it is an awesome property in Nashville. There are the beautiful gardens that first lady, Rachael Jackson attended to and there are also beautiful indoor locations for your ceremony setting.

4) Gaylord Opryland
Last, but definitely not least on our list is the Nashville favorite. It is a little more expensive than the other indoor locations, but it is also very different as it combines the best of both worlds. You can get married in the botanical gardens and have your garden wedding INDOORS! So no matter what time of year you are getting married, you can still have that lush dream wedding.

Plus, they now offer their outdoor location, Gaylord Springs.

Nashville is a beautiful location for your wedding! It's both historical and romantic. Don't forget - once you get your special location set, come on back to Relish to create your unique invitations!
